itcs_logo The International Theological College and Seminary (hereafter called to be “ITCS”) in Cambodia was established in 2007 by Dr. Ezra Hyun Kim, presently the President of the school, who came to Cambodia as a missionary sent by Gospel Presbyterian Church in USA on 2006. The purpose of the establishment of the school is to provide the essential theological and practical training to meet the need of updated effective mission with solid biblical and Reformed Theology in Asia mission as well as World mission.
Under the enormous contribution of the Senior pastor of Gospel Presbyterian Church in America, Dr. Sang D. Kim, also the current Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Asia Reformed Mission, and the leadership of Dr. John E. Kim, the Second Chancellor, the International Theological College and Seminary (ITCS) commenced as a college and seminary in Cambodia in September 2008, with four Seminary students, sixteen College students, and seventy Pastoral Education Program students.
This ITCS, Cambodia was developed to be a college and seminary from a preparatory school named Asia Reformed Theological College and Seminary (ARTCS), which was a pastoral re-education programs and had provided annually for needy places throughout Cambodia during 2004 – 2007. The Rev. and Dr. Samuel Chang of the ARTCS was elected to be its First Chancellor, who was eventually honored as the First Chancellor of the ITCS, Cambodia considering a succession of the board of trustees of Asian Reformed Mission in USA (this eventually evolved into International Reformed Mission).
The ITCS Faculty Staff in 2008 were Dr. John Kim (as Chancellor), Rev. James Hwangbo (Director of Pastoral Education), Dr. Sang D. Kim (Chairman), Rev. Kenneth Cho (Administrative Director), Dr. David Yuhan (Vice Director of Pastoral Education), Dr. Ezra Hyun Kim (Academic Dean), Dr. Bong Sung Moon (Dean of Student), Rev. Yeon Ku Jung, Dr. White Jeon, Dr. Daniel Yom, Rev. Daniel Kim, and Rev. James Kim.
By the grace of God, after three years of successful teaching of the professors, the first graduation ceremony was made possible on June 18, 2011 with six seminary graduates from China, Philippines, South Korea and various provinces of Cambodia. It is also during this memorable first graduation day that Dr. Joseph Y. Chang was inaugurated as the third chancellor of ITCS, Cambodia and successor of the late Dr. John E. Kim.
Dr. Joseph Yoon Chang, a well-respected pastor in Korea and America, founded the Korean American Presbyterian Church on February 24, 1974, served as the president of the Korean Church Council of Greater New York from 1977 to 1978, and as the moderator of the General Assembly of the Korean American Presbyterian Church from 1983 to 1984. Also, in 1987, he founded the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary of the East, and raised many pastors and missionaries. Currently, Rev. Chang is the president of the Coalition for Christian Evangelism of America, and publisher of the Korean Christian Press.
ITCS opened its door to provide quality education to women leaders of local churches. In January 30, 2012 Woman Leadership Education Seminar Program was established under the leadership of Dr. MiEun Chang. At that time, there were one hundred ten women leaders participated in the said seminar. In August 2014, Dr. Grace Oh was appointed to be the Vice-Director of the Woman Leadership Education. In January 30, 2015, the Woman Education Leadership graduated the14 women leaders, the first batch of graduates.
God is faithful to ITCS for He has given a hardworking and dedicated president, Dr. Ezra Hyun Kim, formerly Academic Dean. Dr. Ezra Hyun Kim was appointed as the President of ITCS, Cambodia on September 10, 2015. After that, Dr. White Young Jeon, formerly Dean of Students, was appointed as Academic Dean on October 6, 2015.
By the grace of God, ITCS is continually teaching and training young aspiring ministers of the Kingdom of God. ITCS has been growing in all aspect by the grace of God. We are thankful to God for the excellent, hardworking, and committed staffs and faculties of ITCS, Cambodia. Indeed, the ITCS has been a sheer spiritual product of the Holy Spirit for 21st Century Mission at East-Asia. The education and training have been exceptionally fruitful by the grace of God.
